Cocktail the Musical: Going to Broadway

The hit movie Cocktail that feautured Tom Cruise and Bryan Brown in the late 80's is to be made into musical for Broadway. 

Marty Richards (Chicago), is bringing the straight-laced yet tutti-frutti Tom Cruise vehicle, Cocktail, to Broadway.

Now this could potentially be great news for flair bartening but also bad news for a couple of reasons as flair as evolved so much since the movie was first screened that although semi groundbreaking for the time I very much doubt if they will do flair justice when bringing it to the stage.

We could but only hope that the producers will take notice of how much flair has evolved and do it justice by potraying the new, rather than the old.

Watch out bartenders cause some training will need to be done once again to bring the new stars of the new Broadway show up to date.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that this new adaptation of the original will once again be a boost for bartending as it was for the original in '86.
